Coffee Morning

Kenton Hall hosted a coffee morning on Tuesday 7th Feb 2023 with a visit from some of our friends from Ashton Court. We all had a lovely time and were introduced to our latest resident Tilly the tortoise.

Valentines Day

At Kenton Hall we all believe in the wonderful principle underpinning Valentine’s Day, no one more so than Harry Titley, who showered the staff with roses. A true gentleman.

Valentines Baking!

Kenton Hall celebrated with oodles of love by baking and decorating Valentines cakes and biscuits, enjoying some fizz, giving all the ladies a red rose and the gentlemen chocolates and a guess the bride and groom competition both staff and residents participated.

Olga Brown celebrates her 100th birthday - twice!

A war-surviving resident at Kenton Hall has celebrated two 100th birthdays in September, due to her father incorrectly registering her birthday 100 years ago!

Mother of two, Olga Brown celebrates her ‘real’ birthday on September 21 – but her birth certificate says September 20 due to a mix-up by her father when registering her birth.

Olga celebrated with family, including some who travelled from Canada where Olga used to visit her late sister, at Kenton Hall with two cakes, two cards, and two sets of balloons meaning guests enjoyed tucking into twice as many birthday treats.

100th Birthday Card

When Olga celebrated 100 years young in September, we thought that with the sad passing of HM Queen Elizabeth II and the accession of King Charles III Olga would not receive the celebratory card from the Monarch. Olga has now received her celebratory card from the Monarch.

St Patricks Day

Residents and staff celebrating St. Patricks Day 2023!

Burns Night

We enjoyed a Burns Night at Kenton Hall Hotel! Residents enjoyed a bag pipe performance as well as some delicious traditional haggis!

Wheelchair Beautification Month

Our residents enjoyed decorating their wheelchairs, and were proud to show off their hard work to their friends and families. Don’t they look spectacular!

Tilly The Tortoise!

Our latest member of our team Tilly the Tortoise will be taking maternity leave. We will keep you updated on the happy news!!😁

Home Comforts Arts Project

We recently showed off our Home Comforts Arts Project to the Lord Mayor of Newcastle, Councillor Karen Robinson and invited guests. The project involved artist Sharon Bailey with the aim to build positive and meaningful relationships with older people, their families and care workers during an eight month period. Home Comforts involved using different art forms and techniques to explore their stories and life experiences.
